Fyi I've never been able to decide :) therefore I have all 3 of them .

Logitechs own oficial app is free , but not as good as the other apps
but maybe you wont care for the album cover layouts of the other apps
when using music folder so much.

then we have iPeng or SqueezePad I actually really like both apps.
IPeng has more functions but comes with tutorials , but you are still
discover new niftty details all the time.
And iPeng has solved the sync-UI problem it feels vary naturall to
controll multiple players with iPeng.
SqueezePad is very close in functionality to the the UI experience you
get on a squeezebox.
squeezePad is the app logitech should have done .

and both iPeng and SqueezePad comes with an extra playback option, so
you can listen on your iPad :)

You really have to try for yourself.

There is no conflict in having all apps installed, maybe one should
have all 3 in use the same time.

The price is so low so it's better to buy both of them than spending
time on the forum figuring out in advance which one is the " best " you
must use them youself for a while to get what they are about.

So my advice is all of them iPeng , SqueezePad, Controller app
