My experience with this makes me understand the term abandonware
better...

I do have MIPheadless running/functional on both my server and my
ubuntu destop.

I have not detailed how I got it to run on my CC4.2 rhel4.4 based
server OS ,I'll embarrass myself with my crude linux skills..
I now learned something about runlevels, had to soflink shortcuts with
cryptical names in alphabetical order to all rc.0,1,2n runlevels and
before SBS/LMS so yup it starts before LMS .
I should probably created a user for MIP ..

But the genpiud flunks due to some libstdc++5 dependency that I cant
fix on my server or ubuntu .

And the mm.jar for the MIP GUI wants no less than 2 different arcaic
sun jave installs I don't have how bizarre is that it's not happy with
the newest release :)

Soo thinking outside the box or rather in the virtualbox I fired up my
virtual XP computer I use for , urgh iTunes for my iPad .

And Music IP with gui is now avaible from there I analyze files
directly aginst the server, I'll try localy stored files but I think
the bottleneck will be the virtual on my rather old desktop combined
with the slow and abandoned MusiIP servers
