This is one of the things I really like about Erland's dynamic playlist and sql playlist plugins. you could point it at your 800 song playlist, and it will add 10 songs at a time randomly to your now playing list. And you can set it to NOT repeat a song that has been played in the last x hours, days, weeks, months, or even a year. I have a large collection and even within some genres I may have 15 or 20 thousand songs, so I like to use the dynamic playlist to choose randomly from genres and to not play a song that I've listened to in the last year.
