Take a look at the Live View, does it show Random Tracks being
selected?  Picking a track of the same Genre is a failback method when
MusicIP is not running.  

Have you tested the MusicIP Headless service and is it running, test it
via a web browser; http://localhost:10002/

You can replace the MusicIP interface (see my site for details) and
then try the Create Test Mix button.
