Thanks Triode, I can't play WMA music files either and so it may well be
the FAAD decoder (I confess I don't know what this is, but presumably it
decodes and translates file formats).  How do I check whether it's
installed, there's nothing in the NAS310 administration pages that looks
likely to assist.  Should I be looking in the directories on the NSA310?
Is the file available to download and is it just a case of putting it in
the requisite directory or do I need to tell some of the software that
it's there?

Sorry to have so many basic questions but I'm new to all this.
