Thanks. All is well. If other people 'dare' to try to install the alpha, this is how I did it: I deleted the SuperDateTime directory in the /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Plugins/ directory (you might not have it). Also removed the SuperDateTime directory in the /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins directory. Then I unzipped the downloaded file in that same directory. And restarted the squeezeboxserver service. If you mess up somehow and want to revert back to the original, just delete that directory again, restart squeezeboxserver and reinstall the old version again from the plugins page of the webinterface. All seems to be working, on SB3 and Boom. This is on a vortexbox.
