I reinstalled TrackStat and disabled the settings you mentioned. What a
difference! Startup time for LMS was back to about 10 seconds.

And to connect what the rest of this thread has turned into (backups,
power outages, etc.), I had a power surge yesterday that caused some
hard drive wonkiness. I'm going to be replacing my hard drive in my Mac
Mini this weekend and doing a restore. I'll be moving my tracks from an
external drive to the new internal drive. I'll restore the TrackStat
data. I'll turn on the MusicBrainz option to get the restore done, then
I'll turn it back off. I don't typically move or rename my files. This
will be a one time operation.
