Not as designed no, it detects whether the player you have previously
selected is available on startup, and warns you if not (monitoring it
until it is, or until you change player). It could probably auto-start
Winamp or iTunes if you selected Play while it is selected, but I can't
do that universally for all players (eg. squeezebox players) so thought
it best to be consistent.
