Unfortunately the problem is a bit tougher than I thought: in the past the page would have opened without any indication of what track to use. It then used whatever track was currently running to grab information.
When we unified the music browsing in 7.7 (I think), the behaviour of the track information page changed considerably. Now the plugin is called with the track ID instead. Which means it would be using the same track ID on every refresh. I don't see how I could break out of this situation tbh.
