So with the rating tag issue, please try this: 1) On db view find an UNRATED song, highlight it, then choose Write Selected - if it reports "Changed 1" it may be because it's updated the artist, trackname etc. But at least we know the two are in synch now. Check the date/time updated on the song file itself.
2) Wait a minute. 3) Now set a rating on it and choose Write Selected again - does it report that it has changed 1 or no change required?
