If we talk hifi I've noticed very variable sq on thier so called premium 320kbps it is best effort I suppose and not all albums are up to spec yet. But afaik in triodes plugin you can turn of the volume normalisation done by spotify , I don't know how it's done but it does not appear transparent so I prefer spotify without it.. But sometimes the sq is very good ? So it can be hard to do a fair comparison ,but do think homemade 320k made with lame is better . In my own very unscientific informal testing i prefer my own flac files of some albums I tried to compare , but who knows what master was involved etc to many unknowns .
