I think you need to find out why spotifyd doesn't run - suggest loggin into onto the box and killing all spotifyd/spotifydnoflac processes adn then trying to run manually from the location above - what error messages do you get. I suspect you have an old version of glibc and hence only spotifydnoflac works. I don't undestand why this gives no helper app running, but would want you to restart the entire NAS as sometimes the install process can leave two processes running.
