Great, so I'm not alone. Yes, retrying tracks helps, I've build a crude loop to try up to 10 times on 404 returns and most of the time I do get track to play. Also, I have 404 not only on getTrack but sometimes also on establishing a Secure Token ID. As far as your observation about content is concerned, mine is actually the opposite... newer albums give me most of the grief, but this might be related to my usage pattern where I do not reply that often.
