Triode, Over weekend I had the same issue: after some browsing and searching the rate limiter kicks in and performance breaks down for a while. It seems to happen sooner when I use IPeng or Squeezepad. My plugin settings are 500 for Maximum Tracks and Max search results. I would appreciate it if you could consider relaxing the criteria for the rate limiter to kick in. Obviously you might want to have a chat with Spotify as they most likely can monitor the traffic generated via the plugin en tell you if it really hurts, when needed I can disclose to you via email my spotify user name.
