Did you get anywhere with this OP? I've also had another thought for a workaround I've used myself with an amp I couldn't find any discreet power commands for.
Does the Linn power on if you issue a source command, I.e. press the aux button on the remote and it may power on with the aux input selected. This can be your on command, then simply sent aux followed by power as the off command.
