I have been experiencing the same for the last few days, using LMS 7.8.0 and iplayer v1.2.12 under fedora 20. Nothing has changed on my setup in the last week and s incenumerous people are reporting a problem I suspect the BBC are the problem (unless we are all on the same ISP but I doubt it, I am with TalkTalk business).
