Hi -- sorry if this has been asked before. I've been searching around... I'm planning on doing a carputer type setup with a small windows box possibly LMS, for music only right now. For simplicity/reliability's sake I'd like to control it with iPeng on a permanently mounted iPhone or Ipod Touch without relying on a router, adhoc connections, etc. Is it possible to do this via the usb port? Of course it would also serve to charge the device.
This would be for remote control only. No remote playback through the iThing. I don't have the iThing yet so any gen or model is an option. I'd prefer to keep it small though, so no iPad... If the answer is no, I'm open to alternatives. Android device? Squeeze Control, etc?
