It's most likely changes in the search results that's tripping up Squeeze Control.
Are you using raw CLI, parsing the results? Or are you using json/rpc to get structured data? While the search function indeed has changed, the changes should be transparent to the client. This is the first time I hear about it breaking existing software clients.
