Give them a Raspberry Pi based player - no user interface - and a copy of iPeng Party on an iThingy to control it. iPeng Party is a free cut down version of iPeng for a similar purpose.
LMS 7.9 would additionally give you the option to present them with their own music only - and you'd live without it, too :-).
