QNAP's one-stop-shop installation of SSOTS and LMS 7.7.2 works fine, if you're happy with it then don't worry. You can upgrade to 7.8.0 from within SSOTS without any SSOTS modifications. As you know, an upgrade to 7.8.1 and more recent requires the Zlib modification for the plugins to update properly. An upgrade to 7.9 requires a further tweak for SSOTS to recognise the tgz. The iplayer plugin is independent of LMS vintage. Best if Triode comments on the status of an update - the problem seems to be clarity from the BBC as to what they've have done at their end.
