A way around this would be to set up application generating PCM to resample the input to 44.1Khz/16 bit. I didn't test the PCm - I just generated the conf fiel as quick as I could - I didn't expect BBC to change form 44.1Hz or 32kHz of the old AAC and MP3 stream to 48Khz.
