I'm running a Synology DS213 and am having no issues. I installed LMS via Package Centre and all I've done to get it working is update LMS with bpa's plugin. I had ffmpeg installed already and I'm pretty sure this came with the LMS install. At least I don't remember ever installing it manually. It's in /volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Bin/ffmpeg and is version 0.7.9.
