One thing which events of the past week have shown is that the BBC is planning and implementing big changes to their whole AOD/VOD/Simulcast platforms, and that although the Squeezebox user community maybe noisy we won't stop or delay these plans. From the various comments on the BBC blog it looks like the main thrust of these changes will revolve around MPEG-DASH, with HLS & HDS as interim steps to support current iThings etc.
I guess this is really a question for Triode, but if the BBC are "talking to you" then is there any prospect of an update to the iPlayer plugin with DASH support? From a quick look at the available documentation and test streams linked from ' here' (http://www.bbc.co.uk/rd/blog/2013/09/mpeg-dash-test-streams) the format looks pretty scary, albeit powerful and with some interesting ways to link with EPG metadata. I wonder whether the new ' Freeview Play' (http://www.engadget.com/2015/02/12/freeview-play-on-demand/) service will be based around DASH...? Interesting times...
