It might be interesting to find out what happens with the lower bit rate streams. I find that ffmpeg has to work a great deal harder to transcode the 'sbr_low' variant compared with the 'sbr_high' stream that I have been using. With ffmpeg->flac I cannot stream more than one of the low bit rate streams on the Sheevaplug, whereas I seemed to be managing three of the high bit rate streams.
