I actually tried that one as the last attempt before posting but just retried and it's the same. Am I copying the file wrongly? I am using Terminal, cd to the .../Plugins/BBCiPlayer directory, then cp menu.opml from my Downloads, having checked it is the correct file : cd /....blah blah/Plugins/BBCiPlayer cp /Users/marc/Downloads/menu.opml menu.opml when I do an ls -al, it is the new file that appears.
