Interesting but the version of the shell script had the exec removed and I don't think it is called indirectly. I've gone through ffmpeg code and the error message does seem to indicate no permission to open the library containg the decoder. This doesn't make sense but I feel it needs to be checked out. 1. Can you find any files starting with libavcodec and display their owner/group and permissions. 2.
