The HLS protocol is not that complicated especially if a player can already play http/aac. Many of the affected players cannot play aac. Is it in the interest of manufacturer to update old products where development and test facilities have been mothballed and new codec licenses have to be agreed. Better to encourage user to buy new latest player. Manufacturer are also wary of which standard will be required for next year - HLS, HDS or DASH ? If the vendor provides an upgrade for HLS today forp free - will it be outdated by 2016 and then will vendor then be expected to product as DASH upgrade still at no cost to owner of player. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103158 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
