@badsoden: depending on your soundcard and hardware (U3/C1/Raspberry) and other active players (shairport, gmediarenderer, etc.) it's difficult to guess what's wrong. Try stopping other players like shairport (also remove them from autostart) and do not start Kodi/Xbmc (also no autostart) as these players may block squeezelite from using the audiocard (depending on your hardware).
