I might have still left an issue with 24 bits then - I thought they were all closed, but noise over the sound is likely a packing / ordering mistake (is it he same on both channels) . Our brain is incredibly efficient to pickup pattern in noise, so even if I mixup samples badly, as long as it is not totally random, we'll pickup something. For the cutout, the update is in a different thread since 0.2.x so it should not impact playback. But again, I've done a lot of changes in 0.2.3.0 so there a probably a few repression, still. I'll have a look at the code itself, and then unfortunately if I don't see anything we'll have to wait for a pattern to emerge
