Hi ad6922,

you can easily go with a Raspberry Pi 2. This is powerful enough for
hosting a Squeezebox Server and a player on the same device and runs
very smooth. We have some prebuild images for the Raspberry that are
tested and you find good DACs like HiFiBerry that offer good sound
quality.

The Odroid U3 that we used in the beginning is not produced anymore and
the XU4 has a fan mounted on the CPU that is not really silent. The
ODROID C1+ is little more powerful but has less supported hardware and
less people are using it.

If you are aiming for an easy setup and solid functionality and support
- get the Raspberry with a good DAC.
