2. However, the Triode app needs to be installed longside it. (because
the actual playing is done by it, even when you select the tracks in the
other app)
3. In the settings of the Triode app, "Always stream via Helper" needs
to be activated and "Show in My Apps" has to be deactivated.
That should not be necessary if your username/password stored on
mysb.com was correct.
Some more background: both implementations offer two parts. The
browsing, and the so-called protocol handler. The first part would hand
LMS (or mysb.com) URLs like spotify://123456 or similar. The protocol
handler on the other side would take this URL to do whatever is needed
to make it play on your players.
The official version would pick the track ID and let libspotify, some
piece of software provided by Spotify, built in to Radio/Touch play that
track. Triode's otoh uses the same libspotify in the helper app to get
the audio stream. So there are two instances of libspotify which need
your username/password. If one of the doesn't have the valid data,
playback would fail on one or the other. If mysb's info is wrong, you
can't play to Touch/Radio without Triode's help. If the info in Triode's
plugin is wrong, then playback on Boom/Classic/Receiver/Transporter
would fail, as well as on Touch/Radio, should you have configured the
plugin to always use the helper.
Triode put some effort into his protocol handler to use Radio/Touch for
playback if possible, as this allows you to play multiple stream
independently.
Now, if playback on old players fails: check Triode plugin settings.
If playback on Touch/Radio without the help of Triode's plugin fails,
check settings on mysb.com
If playback fails on all of them, check both ends :-)
