I tried again - two month later instead of two weeks. Doesn't work for me. Do I have to update the server to get bigger pictures or is last.fm still not working. I use 7.9.0 - 1445336105.
Did you wipe your artist artwork folder before re-running the scan? It won't update already saved images. I just did this for some of my music, and got artwork back up to 2000x2000. No problem there.
Feel free to re-run a scan with debugging for plugin.musicartistinfo enabled. Then send me the scanner.log file:
