I run my LMS in a Vortexbox machine running Fedora 20.
I installed Chromecast Bridge v.0.1.2.0 as per the included
instructions. No problems there. However, when I tried to create the
necessary config file nothing happened. LMS would not create the file.
To try and circumvent this problem I installed squeeze2cast on my
Windows PC . I was then able to create a config file. Next I copied this
file to /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs. I reloaded the plugin page and
it already showed my Chromecast but LMS still did not show it as an
available player.
On the plugin page it reads in red "These parameters set the defaults
for all players (EMPTY value means use built-in default)" and I thought
I needed to chose my Chromecast from the dropdown menu to have the
server recognizing it and apply the respective settings. However, when
click apply to try and save the new settings the web page times out and
castbridge.xml is not updated
My guess is that there are user rights issues and therefore the system
cannot
a) Create a config file from scratch
b) Write to a config file created elsewhere
I am accessing VB using SSH (I disabled root access) as a normal user
and after logging in I switch to root with "su - root". Can someone help
me here?
