I just wanted to say a big thank you to those involved in developing and testing this plugin!
I have LMS 7.9 on an Intel x64 box running Ubuntu Server 14.04. It streams to a Raspberry Pi with an IQaudio DAC+ running PiCore I followed the instructions in the 'Github readme' (https://github.com/StuartUSA/shairport_plugin) file, pointed my iPhone at the player, tapped play and music issued forth! In my Linux experience, this is almost unheard of. Thanks again.
