No, I don't think that works.
The problem is that the library setting is a per-player setting applied
on the server side, it's not something that applies to a single
controller.

If your wife changes the setting for that player, iPeng will get that
change, too, and use it.
That's how the use case for this feature is defined and I think I'd
confuse a lot of people if I changed the behavior in iPeng.

I think a better way to separate your libraries would be to create
top-level menus for yourself and our wife using the "Additional Browse
Modes" menus you can define per-player (I think you need to install that
plugin first, too). This allows you to create menus outside the selected
library.

With this plugin you could create e.g. an "Wife's Artists" and "Wife's
Albums" menu and a "Hydro's Albums" and "Hydro's Artists" set and then
you can browse easily browse your own music but still play both, then
you don't need to switch libraries.
It would also work with most Apps.
