The DASH test version of the plugin behaves like the previous version. No info is given on the protocol used - on previous version you were not informed whether the protocol of stream being played is HLS, Flash or HTTP.
To be sure of what format is being played - change the settings so HLS only or DASH only etc. The plugin will not pick the "best" quality - the plugin does not know what is "best". The plugin will play whatever stream is first available according to the preference order set in Settings. With DASH plugin will try to play the highest bitrate if more than one is available.
