I a did a bit of examing using a Linux system (OSX and windows may be different) and AFAICT no RTMP stream still exists. If web browser has Flash enabled then the BBC supplied Flash plugin will play a HDS stream. So for many users they will not notice that a new Flash BBC SWF player has been loaded which plays HDS and not RTMP streams.
