I will try again with the official LMS version v7.7.5 and then add your protocol, remembering to add my account details etc., afterwards. Should you tick the box that specifies, always 'run via the helper' or whatever?
You shouldn't need to check this box. It's completely optional.
Anything else installation wise, I have missed?
No. Install, configure, run. If that doesn't work, provide spotifyd.log and server.log.
