Whats exactly should we do?

1. try to understand the problem.
2. improve the situation using the knowledge gathered in 1.
3. go back to 1. :-)

Log DSTM and LastMix events (set to INFO or be prepared for a lot of log output). See what it says when odd things happen: did it fail to find tracks, falling back too early? Could we try harder? Eg. right now it only picks five random tracks from your playlist. If they happen not to provide enough information as a seed, while others would, should we continue the search?

As you're computer literate you could eg. read up on the last.fm API, understand what options they offer, and think about good ways how those calls could be used to come up with good results. Keep in mind that we shouldn't hammer their services. Try to use the minimum calls possible and necessary. No coding is required to do this. Just understanding their offering and trying to get some good idea what to do with it.

I have most of them - eg. my Gary Numan Collection is by far the Artist
with the most Albums (59) in my collection - but Gary Numan wasnt shown
it was Gary Moore :)

As mentioned elsewhere this most likely is DSTM falling back to a random mix, as LastMix failed to come up with usable data.
