Sorry bpa, I did, but for some reason I got a message when I submitted it saying the post was being held for moderation. I don't think it was in any way contentious, but it still hasn't appeared!
Some of it is possibly irrelevant now, but the answer to your question is, "No, I don't have that preference". I think I have ascertained that the values of the Dashspeed_x values in the preference file (which look to be set to "1" when the plugin is installed) are the root cause of my problem though. I have already uninstalled and then reinstalled the plugin today and restarted the server machine to no effect.
