I implemented teasers on ProductivityEnhancement.com, but I did it using
separate content items that had a category of "NewsTeaser". I then created
a custom tag named DisplayProNewsTeasers by copying and modifying
DisplayContentNamesByCategory, like this:

<cfsetting enablecfoutputonly="Yes">
<cfparam name="Attributes.category" type="string" default="NewsTeaser">
<cfif ThisTag.ExecutionMode EQ "Start">
 <cfinvoke
  component="#Application.Content#"
  method="GetContentByCategory"
  returnvariable="contentQuery"
  category="#Attributes.category#">

 <cfif contentQuery.RecordCount GT 0>
  <cfoutput><ul
style="margin-left:9px;list-style-image:url('/images/arrow.gif');font-size:1
1px;"></cfoutput>
  <cfoutput query="contentQuery">
   <cfif contentQuery.CurrentRow EQ 1>
    <li style="font-size:18px;"><a
href="#Application.urlRoot#/News.cfm?id=#ListFirst(ContentItemID,
'-')#"><b>#ContentItemName#</b></a>#ContentBody#</li>
   <cfelse>
    <li><a href="#Application.urlRoot#/News.cfm?id=#ListFirst(ContentItemID,
'-')#"><b>#ContentItemName#</b></a>#ContentBody#</li>
   </cfif>
  </cfoutput>
  <cfoutput></ul></cfoutput>
 <cfelse>
  <cfoutput><p>There is currently no content in this
category.</p></cfoutput>
 </cfif>
</cfif>
<cfsetting enablecfoutputonly="No">

I make the IDs of the teasers the same as the IDs of the news items to which
they refer, except the teasers are appended with "-Teaser".

This technique works very well for us. I hope you find it useful.

Gotta get back to class, guys! :)

Subject: [plum] Adding Teaser to Plum CMS

Plum CMS is very simple to implement. But, I propose
to Plum Developer to add one more field, ei TEASER, in
the PlumContentItem. This field very important to
display small description of a content, then there is
a link to detail one. This is the example what I mean:

Title1:Bush is Not Coming to Iraq
  Teaser:Bla-bla bla-bla bla bla-bla
  <a href=More-detail>

Title2:Bush is Not Coming to Iraq
  Teaser:Bla-bla bla-bla bla bla-bla
  <a href=More-detail>

Title3:Bush is Not Coming to Iraq
  Teaser:Bla-bla bla-bla bla bla-bla
  <a href=More-detail>

What do you think?

Thank's you
ahmadie
