Thanks Mark, the article worked for me. I just wanted to have both a first
name and a last name in the select.

Hey Dan,

I am sure Jeff's answer will help you out as needed. I did just what the
example shows, but found the whole idea of the email not very helpful for my
purposes. Most people's email address just doesn't offer very many clues as
to who they are. If it [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED], the addresses
are
downright cryptic.

So what I did was create a new field in plumUser called UserName. When a
new user is added, the lastName, FirstName and Phone fields are combined to
make the UserName field (My Plum project is an application and all those
fields are required).

When I read the above paragraph it sounds as clear as mud, and I wrote it.
The code will be more clear. I added this to the action page:

<cf_PassColumnToAction column="UserName" type="varchar(100)"
value="#Form.LastName# #Form.FirstName# #Form.Phone#" valueIfEmpty="NULL">

This results in a unique value and a filtered select ordered by last name.
Much better for my uses.

However, I guess this would not be practical for most Plum projects, those
where users can sign up with just an email address.

Mark
