It's not that I "hate" Flex -- I'm certainly in favor of anything that does the job; it's that I don't like the development overhead necessary to incorporate Flash in the UI at anything more than a trivial level. I've done a good bit with OO Flash both integrated into the web and the desktop, and the kinds of things we would move to Flash for aren't found directly in Flex, so Flex just isn't on our radar at the moment. I'll certainly be keeping abreast of things as they move forward.

I've heard CFEclipse is kinda hard to settle into, but I think Zorn (Flex) is going to rock... and it's new IDE will be an Eclipse build. Note to Adam: I know you hate Flex, but I think it would be worth taking another look. I think MM/Adobe will be hitting a homerun with this. I have also built a set of Plum snippets for CFEclipse, that can be triggered in a fashion similar to the snippet shortcuts in HomeSite+ When you do this, you actually get a tag editor in a popup similar to HomeSite+ Eclipse/CFEclipse has been a pleasant surprise for me, and I am using it more and more. MM recently announced they are supporting CFEclipse and will probably be helping with the integration of RDS features into CFEclipse. Anyway, it seems to work well with Plum and I have found some other useful plugins (VSS integration) that have made the transition fairly easy. Kudos to Spike, Rob, Simeon and the rest of the CFEclipse gang! Anyway, does anybody care? If you would like a copy when I am finished, raise your hand. I hope to be blogging within the month and then I will have a place for this stuff to be downloaded until the Plum site revamp early next year. -- v/r, _______________________________ Jeffrey Fleitz Tekquest, Ltd Integrated Digital Solutions http://www.tekquest.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] 301.994.1468 _______________________________ ********************************************************************** You can subscribe to and unsubscribe from lists, and you can change your subscriptions between normal and digest modes here: http://www.productivityenhancement.com/support/DiscussionListsForm.cfm ********************************************************************** -- Aaron Longnion [EMAIL PROTECTED] 512-470-1211 ********************************************************************** You can subscribe to and unsubscribe from lists, and you can change your subscriptions between normal and digest modes here: http://www.productivityenhancement.com/support/DiscussionListsForm.cfm **********************************************************************
