For each additional database platform supported by Plum, we'll need these
volunteers:

* A ColdFusion developer to add support to the framework

* A C# developer to add support to the IDE (to be renamed "Plum Generator"
in the next major release)

* Someone to help modify the documentation (having RoboHelp X5 is a big
plus, but writing plain markup works, too)

* One or more developers to test everything.

If anyone is interested in handling one or more of these areas, please
contact me *OFFLIST* at [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of
"Plum Volunteer" so I can filter your message out of the daily spamfeed.

Respectfully,

Adam Phillip Churvis

Hi Mike,

Sorry, got lost in the holiday shuffle.

Plum doesn't support Postgres/MySQL at this time from the IDE (code
generator), which means that Plum can't synch with your database. This
doesn't mean that you can't use them, you will just have to build your crud
forms manually, and lose the benefit of having that stuff generated
automagically for you..

Is there interest? Absolutely. Adam and David have promised to look into
this for the next release, but I don't know if/when that will be.

I think if you wanted to look into added functionality in the
DatabaseBlocks.cfc for these, it would definately be useful (try/catch,
error codes, etc.)

Plum would be more widely adopted I think if those two databases were
supported.

There is supposed to be a move toward making Plum more community driven this
year, and offloading certain tasking areas to individuals, in a psuedo-open
source way. What you propose would be welcome indeed.
