maven 2 problems

Hi,

Maven 2 is driving me crazy... Pluto 1.1 compiles under maven 2 alpha 3, but after updated to maven 2 beta3, I could no longer build pluto 1.1. Lots of errors appeared when i ran 'm2 install': pom.xml syntax error, authentication error from remote repos, uite test failure... I resolved some of those errors by updating the poms, but I am not sure whether my modifs will also work under the previous maven2 versions even if finally I manage to make pluto compilable under maven 2 beta 3, . So which m2 version are you using, and which version is suggested to test the build?

Here is a problem about the remote repos: in the root pom.xml, two remote repos are defined:

m1 - scp://cvs.apache.org/repository
m2 - scp://people.apache.org/home/ddewolf/public_html/m2

These two repos reported an authentication error, so I removed them. Would someone please tell me if these two repos are necessary and thus should not be removed?
