+1 for a new binary cut, including Craig's fixes and David's proposed
updated maven goals.

I'm on vacation the next couple of weeks so I hope I can pound out some
remaing bug fixes post beta2.

would you add a bug to jira that accurately details which files need to 
be updated.  This will allow us to automate these updates during the mvn

install by the time we're ready for GA.

Since we're making changes anyways, I'd also like to update the maven 
goals to be in the current groupId.
