NOTE: 1.2.x and 1.1.x - trunk v. branch

In case you haven't noticed:

With the cut of the previous test build (1.1.1) I branched 1.1.x and 
upgraded the trunk to 1.2.x.  PLEASE make sure that all patches applied 
to the 1.1.x branch (bug fixes and minor enhancements which don't 
significantly break compatibility) are applied to the trunk as well.

I plan to start working on generics support and other Java5 upgrades in 
trunk soon.
