GNOME Power Manager will be integrated into opensolaris soon. (b92) In
my understanding, Solaris should provide a consistent GUI for Power
Management. But currently, users use GPM to configure lid close action,
battery action, but he still has to use dtpower to configure suspend and
hibernate idle time.

A good desktop should enable users to configure PM policy with a single
application. So I propose to enhance GNOME Power Manager to replace
dtpower completely.

GNOME Power Manager should provides configuration options for below
features.
.
        - autopm
        - autoS3
        - autoshutdown
        - disk-threshold
        - auto display sleeping

Based on the proposal, desktop team needs to work with PM team to finish
this work.

Regards

Jeff
