I got a Pentium Dual Core E5200 on a Gigabyte EG43M-S2H and installed os2009.06 on it.
My problem is, that it is always running at the max speed (2.5 GHz) instead of switching to one of the lower frequencies, which are listed under supported_frequencies. Is my CPU not supported or is there something I can do? power.conf has these two lines: cpupm enable cpu-threshold 1s kstat cpu_info looks like this: module: cpu_info instance: 0 name: cpu_info0 class: misc brand Pentium(r) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz chip_id 0 clock_MHz 2500 clog_id 0 core_id 0 cpu_type i386 crtime 36,640381924 current_clock_Hz 2500000000 current_cstate 1 family 6 fpu_type i387 compatible implementation x86 (chipid 0x0 GenuineIntel 1067A family 6 model 23 step 10 clock 2500 MHz) model 23 ncore_per_chip 2 ncpu_per_chip 2 pkg_core_id 0 snaptime 10476,139242704 state on-line state_begin 1245917920 stepping 10 supported_frequencies_Hz 1200000000:1600000000:2000000000:2500000000 supported_max_cstates 1 vendor_id GenuineIntel module: cpu_info instance: 1 name: cpu_info1 class: misc brand Pentium(r) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz chip_id 0 clock_MHz 2500 clog_id 1 core_id 1 cpu_type i386 crtime 40,798983561 current_clock_Hz 2500000000 current_cstate 0 family 6 fpu_type i387 compatible implementation x86 (chipid 0x0 GenuineIntel 1067A family 6 model 23 step 10 clock 2500 MHz) model 23 ncore_per_chip 2 ncpu_per_chip 2 pkg_core_id 1 snaptime 10476,139826385 state on-line state_begin 1245917924 stepping 10 supported_frequencies_Hz 1200000000:1600000000:2000000000:2500000000 supported_max_cstates 1 vendor_id GenuineIntel -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
