Hi Phi, GPM 2.24.3 was just released and 2 bugs were fixed in this release:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=562836 - GPM OSD does not popup on machines that support keys in HW but not in xrandr http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=562900 - gnome power manager keeps using xrandr backend after failed calls I think this release fixed the old xrandr bug we found before. Could you please try the new package I built for 2.24.3 on the laptop on which you found the bug? I will also try the 2.24.3 on my laptop. If there is no problem, I will remove the internal patch we maintained for this bug.
